President of the FFC Announce to Step Down After Cambodia loses to Myanmar on Football Match

Phnom Penh: President of the Football Federation of Cambodia General Sao Sokha posted a message on social media that he will resign as the President of the Football Federation of Cambodia after the Cambodian national team lost to Myanmar 2-0.

Sao Sokha's message on the night of April 7, 2023: "After losing the mixed Group A match in the sea games, I respect the promise to show a sense of responsibility, I would like to announce the resignation of the President of the Football Federation of Cambodian from Sunday night, May 7, 2023 onwards."

He added that he would hand over to the Vice President of the Football Federation of Cambodia, Khieu Samet, the acting president from now on.

At the same time, Mr. Sao Sokha also thanked the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports and the people who expressed their support for him to continue as President of the Football Federation of Cambodia and apologized for not being able to bring honor to the nation.

Mr. Sao Sokha said: "I would like to thank Mr. Vice Chairman, Member of the Executive Committee of the FFC, all staff who have worked with me in the field of football in the past. I wish you all good health, prosperity, happiness to all the families and good luck."
